Min Wae Aung
Born in Danubyu, Myanmar (formerly Burma), in 1960, Min Wae Aung studied landscape and portrait paintings at the State School of Fine Arts Yangon and later developed his unique style which has met with international success.
The composition of his works often represent Buddhist monks or nuns painted on elaborate and striking golden backgrounds. Min Wae Aung captures the very essence of Burmeseness, its spiritual and magical dimension, creating iconic characters which perpetuate age-old traditions. The audience often discover a deep feeling of serenity and inner peace when contemplating his works.
