March saw the solo opening by Hong Kong artist Cheri Yeung, her first major exhibition. The exhibition caused a lot of interest and we expect it will be the first of many in the future. Her works are now hanging at a private venue until July 2009.
Also we opened our OPUS II SHANGHAI 2009. The exhibition featured six of Myanmar’s most prominent artists. Shanghai has always been good for us and this event was no exception - the exhibition was most successful, which is even more gratifying at this difficult time.
The financial problems facing the world will be a challenge for all independent galleries and emerging artists in 2009. However, the old adage 'good paintings always find a buyer' has reigned for so long

Born in Fengdu, Chongqing, He Li Ping has a natural interest in carving. As a teenager, He learned basic carving skills from a book and started to make his own sculptures, such as busts of Mao Zedong.
